Do I have to be an artist to participate in art therapy?
No. Art therapy is about expression and self-discovery, not artistic skill.
Are sessions virtual or in person?
All individual therapy, groups, and workshops are offered virtually. I do not offer in person services at this time.
How do I book?
Appointments and registrations can be completed online through the booking page through the Jane app.
Can I use my insurance?
Yes, if your insurance plan covers services provided by a Registered Social Worker (MSW/RSW). At this time, I do not offer direct billing. Following each session, you will receive an invoice/receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.Â
Why Silverberry?
Silverberry Counselling was inspired by both a place and a philosophy.
Growing up in the Canadian Rockies, I developed a deep appreciation for nature and the quiet ways it teaches us about resilience, healing, and growth. The silverberry plant has always stood out to me. Native to western landscapes, it thrives in challenging conditions while supporting the ecosystem around it. It enriches the soil, provides shelter and nourishment for wildlife, and continues to flourish through changing seasons.
To me, the silverberry reflects much of what therapy can offer.
Life inevitably brings periods of illness, loss, uncertainty, stress, and change. While we cannot always control what happens to us, we can cultivate resilience, discover new ways of coping, and reconnect with our strengths. Just as the silverberry creates conditions for new growth, therapy can provide a supportive space where healing, self-discovery, and meaningful change become possible.
Silverberry Counselling is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and evidence-based psychotherapy, while recognizing that healing looks different for every person. Whether through conversation, creative expression, or practical therapeutic tools, my hope is to help you move toward a life that feels more connected, meaningful, and true to who you are.
